Launched with a fanfare in 2008 to the applause of luminaries worldwide, the exquisite St. Regis Bali Resort is an iconic luxury property in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Step into The St. Regis Bali Resort’s rainforest gate and be transported to a world of exquisite living. The dramatic yet subtle garden folly’s scale, mist and blue lights exude an aura of mystery and yet invite in a seductive way. The St. Regis Bali Resort was designed by Bill Bensley of Bensley Design Studios based on principles of Balinese culture, as well as taking inspiration from Isamu Noguchi, a prominent Japanese American artist and landscape architect whose artistic career spanned six decades (1920’s to 1980’s).
The overall resort’s design was inspired by the Balinese concept of “Nyegara Gunung” which describes a sacred journey from the mountain to the sea. The term “Nyegara” means sea and “Gunung” means mountain which can also be interpreted as Bali’s holiest temple, located on the highest ground in Bali, Pura Besakih.
The lobby symbolizes the mountain while the Indian Ocean in front of you is of course representing the sea. The long Fire Garden represents a river of flowing water from the mountain to the sea. Alongside the river, everyday Balinese life can be found including daily and cultural activities, temples and villages, represented by the resort’s elegant villa accommodations.
Combining the rich St. Regis legacy touches for every guest who stays at The St. Regis Bali Resort, from arrival to departure, we invite you into a refined world of luxury and exclusivity, into the St. Regis story.
Embracing the very essence of the St. Regis brand is the most exclusive address on the Nusa Dua coastline, our legendary St. Regis butler service and bespoke beyond compare service and the timeless rituals and traditions bestowed upon us by our founders, the aristocratic Astor family. Cherished traditions, such as fresh flowers, afternoon tea and midnight supper, are carried out as flawlessly today as they were a century ago under the discerning eye of Lady Astor. Likewise, the dramatic art of uncorking a bottle of champagne using a saber – sabrage – is still practiced by the St. Regis sommeliers, while after dinner cognac and hand-rolled cigars remain the staple.
The Bloody Mary, a signature cocktail created by Fernand Petiot in the King Cole Bar and Lounge at the St. Regis New York, is given a local twist through new interpretations that reflect the distinct personality of each address.
It is these time-honored traditions and countless others that help to create the air of seemless magic that guests at the St. Regis have come to know and love.

The St. Regis concierge recommends the following local attractions:
Near the Resort, Seminyak is the top area for fine boutiques and dining.
Uluwatu lies at the southern tip of Bali in the Badung regency, boasting one of the oldest temples in Bali, Pura Uluwatu. Experienced surfers seek the waves here, but for those who stay on land, Uluwatu offers a wonderful vantage point to view a spectacular sunset. Warungs, or small restaurants perched on the cliff offer a comfortable spot to survey the vast Indian Ocean beyond and below the 100 meter high cliffs with panorama on three sides.
An hour away, one of Bali's most important sea temples, Tanah Lot, is built atop a massive rock, surrounded by the sea. Built in the 16th century, Tanah Lot's rituals include paying homage to the guardian spirits of the sea. Poisonous sea snakes found in the little caves at the base of the rocky island are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders.
Ubud Art Village
Known as the "village of painters," Ubud is rich with galleries, craft-shops, restaurants and bars. Guests may enjoy an evening stroll here, taking in the grandeur of Ubud's royal palace, with its resplendent gates and fascinating architecture. Pasar Ubud, the food and handicraft market is also a main attraction.
This grand complex of 22 temples is spread over three square kilometres (1 square mile) on the slopes of Gunung Agung where the Balinese believe the spirits of their ancestors live. It offers a fascinating look at the past as well as modern Indonesian Hinduism.
