Sustainability & Community Engagement at Aloft by Marriott Dublin City

Sustainability & Community Engagement

At Aloft Dublin City Hotel, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and supporting the community in which we are located. Enjoy Aloft Dublin City Hotel's modern urban atmosphere while knowing your stay is responsibly managed.

Our Focus on Sustainability

From reducing waste, water, and energy use to responsibly sourcing our food & beverage ingredients, our sustainable practices incorporate:

Environmental Care
Environmental Management System

We operate under an ISO 14001 certified Environmental Management System that helps us continually improve how we manage our environmental impact. It guides us in reducing energy use, cutting waste, and working to recognised international environmental standards across the hotel.

Energy, Water & Carbon Reduction

In partnership with Celtic Linen, we focus on improving energy and water efficiency through advanced systems across our operations. Our Puresan wash process has significantly reduced water use, while heat exchange technology recovers energy from wastewater to improve efficiency and lower emissions. We also use renewable electricity through Flogas to reduce Scope 2 carbon emissions.

Circular Economy & Responsible Sourcing

We focus on keeping materials in use for as long as possible. Through linen restoration and textile recovery, over 100 tonnes of linen have been diverted from landfill, saving significant carbon and water. We also work with suppliers who share our values around ethical sourcing, recycled packaging, and lower-impact production.

Our Focus on Community Engagement

From monthly street clean-ups to encouraging recycling through bottle return schemes and reusable water bottle initiatives, our community engagement efforts include:

Community & Sustainability Initiatives

Local Community Engagement

We believe sustainability extends beyond our hotel and into the local community. On the last Friday of every month, our team takes part in clean-ups around the hotel and surrounding area. We also support initiatives that help maintain and improve the local environment.

Bottle Return Initiative

Through our bottle return initiative, all bottles and cans are donated to Little Flower Penny Dinners, a local charity that provides food, support, and a welcoming space for people in need. The organisation works to support individuals experiencing poverty, ill health, or homelessness, with a strong focus on dignity, care, and community.

Mindful Laundry Practices

Guests can support our sustainability efforts by helping reduce unnecessary laundry during their stay. Towels left hanging are considered for continued use, while those placed aside will be refreshed. This simple choice helps conserve water, reduce energy use, and lower the environmental impact of daily operations.

For those guests looking to support our sustainability & social impact efforts at any time, we encourage our community of Marriott Bonvoy members to consider donating their points to our partners, such as UNICEF, WWF, and more.
