The Anatolian Civilizations Museum: Here, exhibitions of gold, silver, glass, marble, and bronze date back as far as the second half of the first millennium B.C. Open daily 8:30am - 7pm (summer hours) or 8:30am - 4:45pm (winter hours).

The Ethnography Museum of Ankara: This singular museum, located adjacent to the State Museum of Painting and Sculpture, contains an extensive collection of folk costumes and artifacts from the Seljuk times onwards. Open Tuesday through Sunday 8:30am - 5:15pm.

The State Museum of Painting and Sculpture: A traditional complement to the Ethnography Museum of Ankara, this institution houses a premier collection of modern Turkish painting and sculpture.

Anitkabir: This key sight, which translates to "memorial tomb," is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of the Turkish Republic. Visible from most high points within the city, its grounds also house a memorabilia museum. Open daily.

Cer Contemporary Art Museum: Working with international museums and galleries, this attraction features memorable collaborative shows. Open Sunday through Tuesday 10am - 6pm and Thursdays 10am - 8pm.

Çengelhan Rahmi Koç Müzesi: Housed in a magnificent building, this museum is dedicated to the history of transportation, industry, and communication, and features everything from miniature to full-size boats and vehicles. Open Tuesday through Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 10am - 6pm.

The Sheraton Ankara Hotel & Convention Center debuted in 1991 in Kavaklidere, Ankara’s contemporary quarter, where hotels, theaters, high-rises, and shopping malls reside alongside government offices, celebrated palaces, and foreign embassies.

Between 2001 and 2004, the world-renowned architect Frank Solano redesigned the hotel interior, incorporating inviting contemporary décor with traditional touches. Soon after, in October 2005, the state-of-the-art Convention Center inaugurated its Grand Ballroom.

In 2010—the same year the Lugal became a member of the Luxury Collection by Starwood Hotels and Resorts—Mr. Solano turned his focus to renovating our lobby, dining room, and winter garden. Since reopening in 2011, the Lugal has drawn guests and dignitaries from around the world.
