Hiroshima Castle

The castle was built by Terumoto Mori in 1589 and became the residence of 12 generations of the Asano clan, including Masanori Fukushima and Nagaaki Asano, during the Edo period. 1945 saw the complete destruction of all buildings by the atomic bomb, but the castle tower was rebuilt in 1958 and is now a museum introducing the history of Hiroshima through documents and models.

ITSUKUSHIMA Shrine

Known as “Miyajima of Aki,” one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, this majestic and splendid shrine was built in the 12th century by Taira no Kiyomori in its present form. The vermilion-lacquered shrine pavilions, connected by corridors, seem to float in the sea at high tide.
