Now fully transformed as W Hotels’ global flagship, it channels the city’s spirit into every detail. Our space are designed to surprise, inspire, and become a living narrative of Union Square itself.
Our design blends historic bones with modern energy. Jewel-toned hues and geometric lines meet eclectic details: melted carpets, crosswalk-striped bars, velvet headboards. Spaces evolve with the seasons, inspired by Union Square’s pulse. Every element is crafted to spark curiosity, inspire connection, and celebrate New York’s restless spirit.
Enter a lobby that rewrites expectations. Checkerboard floors and backlit glass bricks echo the city’s pulse, while a champagne staircase spirals beneath a carpet that melts into color. Houndstooth banquettes invite you to linger. Above it all, Shantell Martin’s vivid lines trace a story of Union Square—alive, layered, and always moving.
Guestrooms layer monochrome stripes with greens and oranges inspired by the park’s seasons. Velvet headboards rise to the ceiling. Bedside tables nod to the Square’s famous Metronome installation . Sinks gleam with taxi-yellow fixtures. In suites, ombré drapery and custom art transform light into an evolving canvas, echoing the skyline beyond the windows.
In the Penthouse Suite, design shifts with the seasons. Ombre drapery and walls fade from rich gold to calming green, adding depth and warmth. Layered textures, sculptural lines, and curated details transform the space into an ever-changing canvas—crafted to reflect Union Square’s vibrant spirit and invite moments of discovery.
Anchored by a sculptural minibar, the living room balances style and versatility. One side features a curved banquette and table for dining or work; the other, a plush lounge for relaxed gatherings. A separate powder room welcomes guests. Bold rugs, layered textures, and skyline views set the scene for connection or quiet moments above Union Square.
Two serene bedrooms layer ombre drapery, velvet chairs, and checkerboard nightstands to create a mood that shifts with the city. Each features an en-suite bathroom with thoughtful details. In the master suite, a vanity table overlooks Union Square—a place to pause, prepare, or watch the skyline move from morning light to midnight quiet.
