Designed by Rockwell Group, Cathédrale’s soaring main dining room feels like stumbling upon an abandoned architectural treasure: Its 26-foot, the triple-height ceiling is covered in a massive wire mesh sculpture, Fillmore, by Edoardo Tresoldi that looks like the apparition of a grand domed ceiling.
With a carefully curated menu, Chef Jason Hall adds his own unique twist on classic French-Mediterranean cuisine that paints a picture of the coastal cuisine of Southern France, with brushstrokes of Italy, Spain, and Greece in a staggering setting. Watch the chefs bring your meal to life in an open-hearth kitchen, while you sip on a cocktail amongst good company.
An outdoor dining terrace with a retractable roof is another hidden surprise. With seating for 58 and foliage spilling out of rebar planters and what looks like rusted card file cabinets, it feels like the improvised backyard gardens tucked behind many East Village restaurants.
The Poster Room is a send back to the psychedelic rock era—and the perfect place for private dining with space for up to 26 guests. Featuring a ceiling wallpapered with vintage concert posters from the legendary Fillmore East, The Poster Room is a tribute to the times. With a dedicated restroom and the option to connect to the terrace, you can take your next intimate event indoors or out.
All-Season Rooftop Bar
Inspired by a casual backyard garden in the East Village, our lush rooftop bar in Lower Manhattan transitions to a new era, celebrating the culture and energy that surrounds the university neighborhood and transforms from day to night. With a beer garden vibe, the lounge and seating have an eclectic and impromptu feeling, with a mix of different colors and styles. Cans and coolers highlight the drink offerings, just like every great backyard gathering. Local favorites including Bronx Brewery and City Light Lager, along with canned wine and sparkling options, find their way into mix-and-match tableside coolers, while classic fresh and frozen cocktails serve up a stronger vibe. If all the beer pong works up an appetite, made-to-order fresh tacos are sure to satisfy, plus classic bar snacks that pair perfectly with brews and beverages of all kinds.
Located in the lobby, Alphabet Bar & Café is the social heart of Moxy East Village. Part bar, outdoor lounge, and coffeehouse, each space is designed to shift from work to play as day turns to night. Just around back on the terrace, guests can relax alfresco for endless entertainment amidst walls of tumbling greenery.
Adjacent to the bar, Café d’Avignon Popup at Alphabet Café serves an all-day menu of custom coffee and tea brews, fresh-baked goods and savory snacks. With a retro, mid-century look and ample seating, the café offers inspiring and comfortable perches for co-working, relaxing, and catching up.
Up for a game? Enjoy a hit of arcade-era nostalgia with a round of Skee-Ball. Guests are also invited to pick up a free book, curated by the New York City, quintessential bookstore, The Strand, or browse our collection of complimentary vinyl records courtesy of Academy Records.
Slip into the underground and dive into unknown pleasures. Dimly lit and velvet-laced, our intimate lower-level cocktail lounge is a sultry and seductive trip back to the heyday of East Village’s tempting lounge scene. Cushy banquettes, vintage-inspired custom chandeliers by a local artist, a copper-clad bar, psychedelic lighting, and scantily clad servers all add to the mysterious, you-had-to-be-there vibe.
