How Does a Story Begin?

For 150 years the Sina Bernini Bristol has been a benchmark for luxury hospitality in Rome. Established in 1874 in an ancient palace in the heart of the city, named after the Baronet of Bristol and the great Maestro Bernini, this historic hotel welcomed many illustrious guests including the Emperor of Brazil, the Tsar of Russia, the Prince of Wales and the Rockefellers. After the tumultuous days of the Second World War when the hotel was occupied, it lived days of significant grandeur during the 1960s thanks to the economic boom and the lively nightlife known as the Dolce Vita: with its strategic location the hotel became the setting for the escapades of the most famous movie stars, artists, and intellectuals. The year was 1973 when the idea of a collection of luxury hotels began to take shape in the mind of Ernesto Bocca, founder of Sina Hotels, with the acquisition (after the Sina Villa Medici in Florence) of a new prestigious bastion of hospitality in the Eternal City.

    The Birth of Baroque

    Dating back to the 1940s, this finely restored fresco illustrates Gian Lorenzo Bernini's works of art over the decades: from the Triton Fountain to the one of the Four Rivers, the Barberini Harp, the Colonnade and the Baldachin of St. Peter's, the Ecstasy of St. Teresa and the Church of Sant'Andrea al Quirinale. A true homage to the man and the artist.
