While daytime temperatures are warm, evenings can be pleasantly cooler, so it's a good idea to pack a light jacket or cardigan.

      Although Christmas isn’t an official public holiday in Vietnam, it’s widely celebrated, especially in Ho Chi Minh City. District 1 comes alive with festive lights, Christmas trees, and joyful decorations. Notre Dame Cathedral is a highlight, drawing crowds for its midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Popular spots like Nguyen Hue Walking Street and shopping centers such as Diamond Plaza and Saigon Centre dazzle with elaborate light displays and seasonal cheer.

      Most remain open, especially in tourist areas. Some may close briefly for Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year), which follows shortly after the Western New Year

Rooftop bars like the Social Club and Saigon Bar are also popular for spectacular city views. Be prepared for extremely crowded streets and heavy traffic in the downtown area on New Year's Eve.
