Mission San Juan Capistrano

The historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, the 21st mission, was founded by Junipero Serra in 1776, and to this day is one of the best well-kept missions in California. Wine Tasting

Rancho Capistrano Winery is Orange County's largest winery and was the birthplace of grape growing and winemaking in California. Amtrak Train and San Juan Capistrano Trolley

The mission was known as a marketplace for commerce which is widely celebrated in San Juan Capistrano. The train station, located within walking distance from the hotel, allows guests convenient and hassle-free access to San Diego (to the south), Los Angeles (to the north), and beyond. Every year in March, San Juan Capistrano celebrates the migration of the swallows with Fiesta de las Golondrinas, or "the Swallows Parade". The parade is over 60 years old and is the largest non-motorized parade in the nation. The many events scheduled for this time of the year pay tribute to San Juan Capistrano's unique Spanish and western heritage.

What is the process for making a reservation at the spa?

Please reserve spa appointments at least two weeks prior to arrival so that we may best meet your scheduling requests. A credit card is required at the time of reservation. Online booking is available www.bookspaatthemission.com.

What is the spa age requirement?

The Spa at The Mission Inn San Juan Capistrano is available to guests 18 years of age and older. Guests under the age of 18 will not be permitted to use the spa facilities or in the locker room areas.

What is the spa cancellation policy?

In consideration of others, please notify the spa of cancellation or to reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid being charged the full treatment and service fee. Group reservations are subject to contracted agreement.

Is there a service charge for spa services?

For your convenience, a 22% service charge will be added for each spa service you receive and it is distributed among your service provider and the spa staff who served you during your visit. If services were satisfactory, please feel free to leave additional gratuity at your discretion.

Are spa gift cards available for purchase?

You may purchase Gift Cards in specific dollar amounts, either at the hotel, spa or online at Marriott Gift Cards, which are redeemable in any of our hotels and resorts and can be used towards spa services or purchases in our Spa Boutique.

When should I arrive for my appointment?

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to begin your spa journey. Arriving late may limit the time of your treatment and will end on time, not to disrupt other guest’s appointment times.

How can I best enjoy the spa?

While enjoying The Spa at The Mission Inn San Juan Capistrano treatments and lounge, we kindly ask that you enjoy quiet conversation and refrain from using cell phones and other electronic devices. The spa is a smoke-free environments. To ensure complete privacy for you and other guests, please avoid camera use in the spa.

What if I have health conditions or concerns?

Please advise your therapist if you have any health concerns or questions about which treatments are best for you. Heat treatments are not recommended for pregnant women, guests with heart conditions or sensitivity to heat.

Is there a military discount?

Yes, in appreciation of our servicemen and servicewomen, we are proud to offer 10% discount to all active, reservist, veteran and retired U.S. military personnel and to spouses of active personnel. We thank you for your service.

What is appropriate spa attire?

We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and do not bring your jewelry or valuables to the spa. A spa robe and slippers will be provided. Our therapists are professionally trained in proper draping techniques to ensure your privacy and comfort.
