The historic Mission San Juan Capistrano, the 21st mission, was founded by Junipero Serra in 1776, and to this day is one of the best well-kept missions in California. Docent tours are available and invite visitors and locals alike to see this as a cultural destination experience, a place of inspiration, education, and preservation. The mission is home to the ruins of the great stone church and serves as a vibrant place of ongoing learning and worship.

Swallows Day Celebration
Every year in March, San Juan Capistrano celebrates the migration of the swallows with Fiesta de las Golondrinas, or "the Swallows Parade". The parade is over 60 years old and is the largest non-motorized parade in the nation.
