ST MARK’S FESTIVAL: 25th April 2020

The ancient celebration of St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice. It is also known as the rosebud festival, because men traditionally offer a rosebud to the women they love.

17TH INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITION 29th August 2020 - 29th November 2020

Curated by the architect and scholar Hashim Sarkis, the 17th International Architecture Exhibition, entitled “How we will live together?” will be hosted in the prestigious spaces of Giardini and Arsenale.

FESTA DEL REDENTORE: 18th – 19th July 2020

The most popular event in the Venetian calendar. Instituted in 1576 this characteristic annual festival celebrates the end of a terrible plague. Fireworks illuminate St. Mark’s basin on the Saturday night amongst feasting and revelry.

77TH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL: 2nd – 12th September 2020

Organized by the Biennale of Venice and the oldest film festival in the world, the festival promotes international cinema in all its forms in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.

HISTORICAL REGATTA: 6th September 2020

The most important sporting event in Venice. A spectacular procession of decorated historic craft along the Grand Canal followed by competitive regattas, a trial of strength and skill for the city’s gondoliers and other expert rowers.

VENICE GLASS WEEK: 5th – 13th September 2020

An international festival dedicated to the art of glass, involving major institutions and celebrated artists with the aim of sustaining one of the city’s most important artistic activities.

HOMO FABER: 10th September 11th October 2020

An inspiring showcase of the finest craftsmanship with live demonstrations by master artisans and designers from all over Europe.

VENICE DESIGN WEEK: 3rd – 11th October 2020

The Venice Design Week celebrates the relationship between design, arts and crafts. Designers from all over the world are invited to take part in exhibitions, special events and competitions around the city.


Officially recognized as the Grand Prix of Venice, this unique and annual event combines the nautical and sporting tradition of the Serenissima with the glamour of Venice. More than ten maxi yachts compete in St. Mark’s Basin for the Challenge Trophy, handmade by master artisan glassmakers from Murano.

VENICE MARATHON: 25th October 2020

One of the most important marathons in the world with a spectacular three kilometer finish in the unique surroundings of the lagoon city.

FESTA DELLA SALUTE: 21st November 2020

A religious feast day instituted in 1630 celebrating the city’s miraculous delivery from the plague. A pontoon bridge is strung across the Grand Canal to the Madonna della Salute Basilica so Venetians may make the pilgrimage to pay homage to the Madonna and to light a candle asking her to keep them in good health.

CHRISTMAS 2020: 25th December 2020

During Yuletide, Venice fills with an alluring atmosphere of lights and reflections on water wedded with the joyful liveliness of markets, shopping, and preparations for the season’s festivities.
