The initiative is supported by experts who helped us in our commitment to reducing food waste. Further actions include eliminating single-use plastics, using only glass bottles, paper straws, and bio-degradable boxes for food delivery

Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok is partnered with the Corsair Group, an international recycling company which takes our daily plastic waste and turns it into advanced bio-oil. Together, we are working towards becoming Certified Plastic Neutral. This means for every kilogram of plastic discarded as trash, an equal amount of plastic waste is recovered and removed from the environment. Corsair has solutions to help us achieve our goal, while also tracking our progress and awarding credits.

Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok has joined SCG Chemicals and SCG Packaging to be part of its Circular Economy. The innovative business model was created to harness the potential of emerging technologies to help us move from ‘make-use-dispose’ toward ‘make-use-return’.

At the hotel, we send our plastic waste to SCGC in exchange for cash which we then use to further our CSR activities. We also send wastepaper to SCGP which is returned to us as recycled paper that can be used for office documents.

Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok is Gold level certified by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion under its Green Hotel program. Awards are given to hotels and resorts which have implemented comprehensive environmental and resource efficiency measures. Recipients must meet strict criteria for environmental policies and preservation, public relations, procurement systems, and energy-saving plans and methods.
