    Merlin House Reef

    Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Merlin Beach is unique among hotels in Phuket because of its own house reef. This enables the hotel to provide snorkeling and scuba diving to guests, allowing them to explore the vibrant underwater world without ever leaving the property. Many nearshore reefs in Phuket have been destroyed as a result of anchoring or overdevelopment. However, due to the difficulty of public access and conservation efforts, the reef in front of the resort remains one of the healthiest nearshore coral reefs in Phuket, with high coral cover and diversity, which attracts a variety of fish species and other reef-dependent organisms. The reef can be explored by snorkeling or diving at high tide. Non-swimmers and children can also explore the reef and its inhabitants at low tide. The ocean recedes twice daily, forming small tide pools ideal for exploring.
