Recently redesigned in 2009, and just minutes from The Westin Princeville, its 18-hole championship Makai Course winds its way around serene lakes, native woodlands and the most spectacular coastline Kaua‘i’s north shore has to offer with views of Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay. For the more relaxed golfer the Makai Golf Club also boasts its par 36 Woods Golf Course. This fun nine holes rolls around native woodlands and great for golfers of all skill levels.

The Kilauea Point National wildlife Refuge is one of the most intriguing things to do in Kauai for people of all ages. Tours depart from the visitor center and the refuge is open Tuesday through Saturday, except on federal holidays. There is a small entrance fee to the refuge. Don't forget your camera as this refuge offers some of the most stunning photographic opportunities in all of Hawaii.

Allerton Garden

Located on the island’s south shore , Allerton Garden is offers tours to of its towering rainforest trees with tall curving roots that grow near bronze mermaids, a grove of swaying golden bamboo, a cut-flower garden, and tropical fruit trees with a focus on landscape design.

McBryde Garden

McBryde Garden is located in the picturesque and historic Lawai Valley on Kauai’s south shore. The garden features the largest ex situ collection of native Hawaiian flora in existence. Tours of McBryde Garden and the adjacent Allerton Garden depart from the National Tropical Botanical Garden South Shore Visitors Center daily.

Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens

The Na`Aina Kai Botanical Gardens offer 240 acres of splendid beauty, encompassing 13 diverse and lush gardens, a hardwood plantation, a canyon, a sandy beach and more. Discover meadows and fern-draped canyons. Encounter the Pacific Ocean  in its wild beauty. Enjoy the 70 bronze sculptures that adorn the landscape. A real treasure, this botanical garden offers guided tours from Tuesday through Friday, weekly.
