Renaissance Inspired Weddings

Weddings and celebrations at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot, are truly unforgettable. From large events to intimate receptions, we have uniquely beautiful settings to offer for every occasion.

Great Hall

The Pavilion

The largest venue on property offers more than 16,800 square feet of event space. The Depot Pavilion seats up to 1,500 people with stunning views. Ideal for very large receptions.

Great Hall

A grand ballroom on property that offers 4,600 square feet of event space. The Great Hall is perfect for weddings up to 300 people and receptions up to 450 people. An elegant feel stemming from a combination of unique architecture, historic ambience and modern comfort. An expansive event space with vaulted ceilings that provides grandeur for any wedding or reception.

Great Northern

A new large meeting room boasts over 7,000 square feet of event space and vaulted ceilings. Ideal for large celebrations with seating for 500 banquet-style or 700 for receptions. Accents of the original Milwaukee Road Depot train shed and classic brick wall provide a wonderful atmosphere. This space has a tremendous amount of natural light during the day and a great city feel at night.

The Conservatory

The Conservatory is ideal for summer wedding ceremonies or pre-reception cocktail hour. Over 3,600 square feet of space can accommodate up to 350 guests. This unique space is surrounded by glass that brings in an abundant amount of natural light and its vaulted ceilings provide a breathtaking view.

Winter Garden

The intimate space boasts a tremendous amount of natural light, perfect for daytime weddings and ceremonies. The Winter Garden offers 2,600 square feet. Maximum capacity of 300 guests, with seating.

Luce Line / Empire Builder

These eclectic rooms are fantastic for gift openings, intimate cocktail hours, or as a bridal suite with plenty of comfortable seating. The two rooms can accommodate 50 guests and can be used separately for both the bride and groom.

Hiawatha Ballroom

Ideal for receptions, this intimate space can be subdivided into three separate event rooms for smaller celebrations. 3,300 square feet of space. Maximum capacity of 250 guests with seating for 200

Conference and Hollow Square
Appropriate for interactive discussions and note-taking sessions for fewer than 25 people. Many hotels have elegant "boardrooms" for 10 to 20 people, equipped with full audiovisual capabilities, a writing board, cork board and a flip chart.
E-Shape, U-Shape and T-Shape
Appropriate for groups of fewer than 40 people. These are best for interaction with a leader seated at the head of the setup. Audiovisual is usually best set up at the open end of the seating.
Theater
Appropriate for large sessions and short lectures that do not require extensive note-taking. This is a convenient setup to use before breaking into discussion or role-playing groups because chairs can be moved.
Reception
Stand-up social function where beverages and light foods are served. Foods may be presented on small buffet tables or passed by servers. May precede a meal function.
Schoolroom or Classroom
The most desirable setup for medium to large-size lectures. Requires a relatively large room. Tables provide attendees with space for spreading out materials and taking notes.
Ovals and Rounds
Generally used for meals and sessions involving small group discussions. A five foot round table seats eight people comfortably. A six foot round table seats 10 people comfortably.
