Julia Street + Gallery Row
An Artist's Wonderland
Nicknamed Gallery Row, Julia Street is considered one of the top New Orleans top hotspot known for its many art galleries. As part of the Warehouse District, Julia Street was originally established as an industrial area for the products shipped through the Port of New Orleans. Eventually the neighborhood fell into disrepair due to the evolution of industry practices. The 1984 World's Fair provided a much needed revitalization of the neighborhood.

HOWLIN' WOLF
Locally owned and operated, the Howlin' Wolf opened its doors in 1988 and was named after the legendary bluesman Chester Burnett. The venue features live entertainment six nights a week such as live music, including Grammy nominated brass bands, burlesque shows, and comedy nights.
Artists who have graced the stage include Harry Connick Jr., Arturo Sandoval, Jimmy Buffet, Dr. John. St Paul & The Broken Bones, Snarky Puppy, Dean Ween, The Foo Fighters, Matt & Kim, BareNaked Ladies, Allison Krauss, and Citizen Cope. The exterior of the building exudes a mural that tells the story of the music history of New Orleans created by renowned artist, Michalopoulos.
