Sustainability

Marriott International has a legacy of caring for the communities in which we operate, so Global Citizenship comes naturally to us. Our work focuses on the environment and leverages our people, brands, relationships and global reach because we’re uniquely equipped to help our associates and guests create a better world to experience.

W Hotels Worldwide has been a leader in incorporating and embracing green technologies in the effort to create a greener world, and W Boston takes great pride in the modern innovations and initiatives we‘ve undertaken in order to play our part in being a greener hotel.

Make a Green Choice

It pays to be green. Be rewarded for conserving water, energy and other resources. Every night you pass on housekeeping (except day of departure) you'll receive 500 Marriott Bonvoy® points at checkout. Please note that this includes all room cleaning and trash removal.

Style won’t enter your room, so items like coffee and bathroom amenities won’t be replenished unless requested. Guests are not eligible for this program on their day of departure or for stays of fewer than two nights.

Here are some other ways W Boston runs sustainably, to keep our environment green and its inhabitants healthy:

  • Leftover toiletries and toilet paper are donated to create hygiene kits for those in need around the world
  • We have our very own compost for food waste
  • Our rooms are 100% LED lighting
  • Our guest rooms and public restrooms are equipped with low-flow toilets, urinals, showers, and sinks
  • Our rooms are controlled by INNCOM energy management thermostats
  • Our building is controlled by an energy management system called Metasys
  • Our public spaces use 90% led lighting
  • We reclaim our steam condensate to heat our domestic hot water
  • All motors and chillers in the building have a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This is a type of motor controller that varies the frequency and voltage supplied to the electric motor to save energy.
  • We recycle cardboard, paper, batteries, electronic ballast, old paint, and food oil
