Things to Do in NYC

Experiences

There are so many things to do, sights to see and places to go while visiting New York City. Experience the energy and excitement of Times Square, the world’s most visited tourist attraction. Visit iconic sites like the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge and the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Shop till you drop – and then shop some more in the fashion capital of the new world. Whatever your sport, there’s a game on; catch the action at Yankees Stadium or the Mets’ Citi Field, watch the Knicks and New York Liberty in Madison Square Garden, and cheer for the Giants and the Jets at MetLife Stadium. No trip to the Big Apple is complete until you take in a show on – or off—Broadway.

Sculpture, Abstracts, Photography & More

Original art is a fundamental design element in our modern new hotel in New York City. Shared spaces feature expressive pieces by local, national and international artists – everything from sculpture to abstract paintings – while guestrooms showcase the work of acclaimed local photographer Richard Silver, with images of iconic architecture such as Fulton Street Station and the Oculus.

Design

The focal point of the lobby embodies the intersection of jewelry and sculpture. Designed by North Carolina artist Sara West, this suspension of floating fabric creates a moment in the sky that represents the presence of our hotel in the Garment District. A smaller version of the art is available for purchase in the AC Store in chic necklace form.

AC Fitness Center

A commissioned piece in the fitness center – yes, custom art in a hotel gym! – is the work of UK-based artist Sam Smythe. This sculptural work – crafted from layers of plexi, neon lights and mirror -- features a geometric collage that gives off a never-ending reflection and makes for a perfect spot to catch a quick selfie post-workout.

AC Library

Other commissioned pieces in the hotel’s public spaces are by Steve Zolin, Bob Madden and Alyse Radenovic. William McClure created the artwork in Castell; Katie Merz painted the mural in Boqueria.
