Hotel Heritage
Designed by famed Japanese architect firm Nikken Sekkei, The St Regis Osaka stands 27 stories above Midosuji Avenue, known as Osaka’s Champs-Elysées.
Opened in October 2010, The St. Regis Osaka is the first international luxury hotel to open in the city in 13 years.
Midosuji Avenue has a long history and is considered a symbol of the urban infrastructure development history of Osaka during the period from the end of the Taisho Era (1925) to the end of the Showa Era (1989). Since those days, the avenue has been expanded and electrical cables have been buried to preserve the streetscape. Midosuji Avenue, lined with beautiful Gingko trees, is now designated as one of the Best 100 Osaka Green Spaces and is also a designated cultural property in Osaka.
