In a showcase of understated elegance by design, The Tasman is an architectural symphony; an overture of 1840s Georgian heritage, building to 1940s Art Deco and a 2020s modern extension finale. Original sandstone contrasts spectacularly with a glass-encased prism of modern architecture.

Three Eras of Design
A luxury hotel in Hobart of architectural distinction, The Tasman Hobart celebrates the city’s natural maritime advantage. Like a seafarer’s rope, it is a woven story of local materials and luxury finishes that seamlessly tie together three eras of design. In the Heritage building, original Georgian details have been restored and reimagined. Rooms feature original windows, restored fireplaces, original artwork, and custom furnishings. The St. David’s Park Suite, the crown jewel of the heritage building, overlooks its namesake park and features a lofty ceiling reminiscent of the first ships arriving in Hobart, exposed sandstone walls, and original artwork. Art Deco rooms are a vision of luxury with rich colors and materials and Blackheart Sassafras ceilings. Within the contemporary Pavilion building, rooms feature sweeping water views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The premier suite is Aurora Suite, with its spectacular outdoor terrace overlooking Hobart’s harbour.
