Hobart’s Most Spectacular Accommodation
Accommodations
At The Tasman, each of the 152 rooms and suites is a page in the hotel’s rich architectural story, which spans from the 1840s to the present day. Heritage rooms and suites showcase original Georgian details including vaulted doors and restored fireplaces in some rooms; Art Deco rooms offer understated luxury with a rich colour palette and elegant materials; and modern Pavilion rooms and suites frame waterfront views with floor-to-ceiling windows. The in-room experience is intended to be an extension of the Tasmanian culture and landscape, highlighting local materials such as sandstone and native woods. Bath amenities feature Tasmanian ingredients crafted by the local brand Beauty and the Bees and the Australian brand Grown Alchemist, and beverage options highlight exclusive local collaborations with Lark Distillery and Moo Brew.
Aurora Suite
Set within the contemporary Pavilion building, this 108-square-meter rooftop suite is the pinnacle of modern luxury. Its most striking features include uninterrupted views of the waterfront and Hobart Harbour; an expansive outdoor terrace, ideal for entertaining, with a sandstone and glass firepit; and a spacious bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub.
Pavilion Suites
Spacious and bright, these two corner suites honor the city’s maritime history both with their views and their design. Expansive windows look out across the Hobart waterfront and River Derwent, and an elegant palette of blues and grays is complemented by original artworks. Suites are indulgently furnished with decadent super king beds and freestanding soaking tubs.
St. David's Park Suite
Named for its view overlooking Hobart's charming St. David’s Park, this suite is the crown jewel of the hotel’s Georgian heritage building. The space exudes warmth and grandeur, owing to its heritage fireplace, exposed sandstone walls and original local artwork. Crowning the space is a lofty ceiling crafted from Baltic pine, the same wood used as ballast on the first tall ships to arrive in Hobart.
