How far is the resort from San Antonio International Airport (SAT)? The resort is 14 miles NE of the airport and drive time is estimated at 35 minutes. Please allow extra time based on time of day if needed.

How do I get to the resort from SAT? Take US Highway 281 North to the TPC Parkway exit. Exit to the right (east) and follow the TPC Parkway east to the Marriott Parkway exit. Continue on the Marriott Parkway to the resort entrance.

How many rooms does the resort have? The resort has 1,002 guest rooms in total. This breaks down to 917 rooms and 85 suites.

When is check-in and checkout? Check-in is at 4:00pm while checkout is at 11:00 am.

May I check in early? While we cannot guarantee early check-in, you may request early check-in upon arrival. Guaranteed check-in starts at 4:00 pm.

May I upgrade my room? Upgrades and/or Suite or View rooms are based on availability at the time of check-in. Please see a Front Desk agent for more information on availability and pricing.

Does the resort offer connecting rooms? Yes, while connecting rooms cannot be guaranteed and are based on availability, we do offer connecting rooms with one king guest room connecting to a two-queen guest room.

Is there a resort fee?
Yes, there is a mandatory resort fee in place for all guests. This fee includes enhanced high-speed Internet access in the guest rooms; unlimited local and domestic long-distance calls; access to the River Bluff Water Experience; one-year complimentary subscription to Golf Digest; two (2) welcome drinks per stay in Crooked Branch (gratuity not included); complimentary golf bag storage; access to the Lantana Spa and Fitness Center/classes (upon availability) for $15 per person; 15% discount at Replenish Spa Bistro; and basketball and tennis/pickleball court access with complimentary racquet use. Inclusions subject to change. Resort card must be shown to receive discounts.

Does the resort have rollaway beds? Is there an extra cost? Yes, we have rollaway beds based on availability at check-in. There is a one-time charge of $25.

Are there microwaves in the room? Microwaves are available on the fourth floor in the laundry facility.

Is JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa a pet-friendly resort? No, only service animals are allowed. They must always be with you while on the property and cannot be left alone in the room.


Is the pool heated?
Pools and attractions (lazy river, body slides, & tube slides) are heated at 80 degrees. The family hot tub and adult hot tub are between 95-100 degrees.

Are wristbands required to enter the River Bluff Water Experience? Yes, guests of the resort enjoy exclusive access to the River Bluff Water Experience and are limited to four (4) entry wristbands per room.

Can outside guests come out to the pool? Yes, only when hotel occupancy permits.

Can I bring a cooler or food into the water park? Outside food or beverages are not permitted at the water park.

What are the hours of operation for the water park? The water park is open year-round, weather permitting. The activity pool, family hot tub and adult pool are open daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Waterslides, the lazy river and the kids’ pool are open when the temperature is above 55 degrees and weather permitting. Please see the Front Desk for exact hours of operation during your visit.

Does the resort have any indoor pools? No, the resort does not have any indoor pools.

Are towels provided at the water park or should I bring my own? Complimentary towels are provided for use during your visit to the River Bluff Water Experience.

Can we bring floatation devices for the pool? Inner tubes are provided for use in the lazy river.

Since checkout is at 11.00 am, may I stay after checkout to enjoy the water park? Yes! The water park is open to you all day of check-in and checkout. Please see the Bell Desk for assistance with storing your luggage.

What are the height requirements for the Slides?
Canyon Oak Twister Body Slide (must be 48” tall to ride)
Hill Country Plunge Body Slide (must be 48” tall to ride)
Cibolo Falls Tube Slide (must be 42” with an adult, must be 48” without an adult)
Pedernales Falls Tube Slide (must be 36” with an adult, must be 48” without an adult)
