What to Expect
Big Ben
Waterloo Bridge
Located on a bend in the River Thames, our hotel offers exceptional views of Waterloo Bridge. The name commemorates the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Designed by architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, it opened in 1945 and was largely constructed using female labour. Because of this it’s sometimes called the ‘Ladies’ Bridge’.
London Eye
The London Eye has become something of a London fixture since it opened in 2000. Constructed as part of the Millennium celebrations, it’s the world’s largest cantilevered observation wheel standing at nearly 450 feet high. Offering spectacular city views you can take an indulgent Champagne sunset ride, hire a private pod or choose romance in Cupid’s Pod.
St James’s Park
The green spaces of St James’s Park are never far from view at our Westminster Bridge hotel. Surrounded by landmarks including Buckingham Palace and Clarence House and taking in The Mall and Horseguards Parade, St James’s Park is a calm, reflective place with a unique charm all of its own.
Nelson’s Column
Standing at over 18 feet high and guarding Trafalgar Square, Nelson’s Column is an impressive sight. Built to commemorate Vice-Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson who died on-board his flagship HMS Victory defeating the French at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, this is a much-loved part of the London skyline.
River Thames
The unique bends and winding waterways of the River Thames can be seen from space – and from your balcony at our riverside hotel London. There are plenty of inspiring experiences to enjoy on the water: try a relaxing river cruise or enthralling high-speed ride on a rib. Or maybe you’d prefer a gentle stroll along the Thames Path, taking in the sights and sounds of this fascinating part of the city.
City of London
The City of London’s skyline is simply awe-inspiring. See if you can spot 20 Fenchurch Street, otherwise known as the Walkie Talkie. The Leadenhall Building – or The Cheesegrater – is another prominent building. But with its ornately curved dome and beautiful Baroque-inspired architecture, St Paul’s Cathedral is arguably one of the most iconic sights.
Houses of Parliament
You can’t help but be impressed by the jaw-dropping spectacle that is the Houses of Parliament. Housed in The Palace of Westminster with a commanding position overlooking the River Thames, this instantly recognisable building is a sight to behold. It survived the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when Guy Fawkes attempted to blow it up and was largely destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1834 but later rebuilt.
