Responsible Sourcing

In our purchasing decisions, we strive to balance economic efficiency with environmental and social responsibility. We prioritize suppliers who uphold transparent and sustainable production practices and place strong emphasis on regional products to reduce transportation distances and the associated emissions.

Too Good To Go

Since summer 2023, we have partnered with Too Good To Go to thoughtfully redistribute surplus items from our breakfast buffet. Through this, high-quality food that would otherwise go to waste is given a second life, helping us reduce food waste and conserve valuable resources. At the same time, it allows us to make our culinary offerings accessible beyond the hotel.

Mindfully Local

The BRICKS Bar concept is designed to showcase Hamburg’s rich culinary diversity while supporting regional value creation. Inspired by the city’s neighborhoods, both the food and beverage offerings highlight local ingredients and partnerships, bringing a strong sense of place to the experience. Flexible formats allow for seasonal variety and a more mindful use of resources.

Our Focus on Community Engagement

From planting trees to joining obstacle runs to raise donations, our community engagement efforts include:

Kids at Christmas tree. Children open presents
“Knack Den Krebs”

Each year, we support the non-profit organization ‘Knack den Krebs’ through a Christmas wish tree initiative. In our hotel lobby, a Christmas tree is decorated with small and large wishes from children and teenagers for the playroom of the pediatric oncology ward at UKE Hamburg.

Ready to run like never before
Muddy Angel Run

The Muddy Angel Run is a five-kilometer challenge filled with mud, water, and a range of fun obstacles. Our female team members enjoy the experience while supporting a meaningful cause, as €1 from every ticket is donated to the breast cancer organization Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V.

Climate Partnership

A climate partnership initiative supports companies in implementing sustainable projects and making their commitment to environmental and climate protection visible. We carried out our first tree-planting initiative with our employees in October 2024. Together, we planted new trees, making a meaningful contribution to biodiversity and climate protection.

For those guests looking to support our sustainability & social impact efforts at any time, we encourage our community of Marriott Bonvoy members to consider donating their points to our partners, such as UNICEF, WWF, and more.
