Aji Spa and Kai at Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass Receive Highest Honors in Forbes Travel Guide’s 2020 Star Awards
Aji Spa Awarded Coveted Five Star Rating for First Time while Kai Maintains Five Star Honor for 12th Consecutive Year; All Ratings Showcased on ForbesTravelGuide.com
PHOENIX (February 12, 2020) – Forbes Travel Guide, the world-renowned and global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas, today unveiled its annual Star Rating list, awarding both Aji Spa and Kai restaurant at Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass with its highest rating, the Five-Star Award.
This marks the first time Aji Spa has been bestowed the prestigious Five Star honor, joining Kai, which has meticulously maintained the Five Star accolade for 12 years and is still the only restaurant in the state with the distinction. With this achievement, Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass is now the only resort in Arizona to boast both a Five Star spa and Five Star restaurant within its collection of luxury amenities.
In addition, Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass maintained its place on the Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Hotel list. This designation is described as denoting a well-appointed hotel that has enhanced amenities and design which provide a consistently strong sense of location and service.
“To be recognized by Forbes Travel Guide with Five Star honors for Aji Spa for the first time and Kai for the 12th year-in-row makes us extremely proud of our hard-working and dedicated team,” said Bunty Ahamed, General Manager of Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. “These awards are a true reflection of our team’s commitment to delivering unparalleled and personalized service to each guest who walks through our doors.”
The only Native American-owned spa to earn Five Stars and one of only 3 spas in Arizona to achieve the distinction, Aji reflects the traditions of the Pima and Maricopa cultures in every aspect from art and architecture to treatments and services. The spa, which opened in October of 2002, is a leader in Native American spa offerings, and has undergone the rigorous process of approval from Tribal Elders to ensure authenticity, correct use and respect of the culture and attention to every detail.
Kai is the only restaurant in Arizona and one of only 43 restaurants in North America to receive this prestigious honor, continuing to establish itself as one of the finest dining establishments in the world. Kai, the Pima word for “seed,” is a multisensory dining experience focused on sharing a regional sense of place through sophisticated cuisine. Treasured for being as luxurious as it is accessible, the talented culinary and service teams behind Kai’s success work diligently to bring Native American inspired cuisine to the forefront of the national gourmet dialogue.
Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass is a heritage resort offering a fully indigenous, healing and indulgent escape. Located on pristine Sonoran Desert land, it is one of the premier resorts in the Phoenix area.
