Providing a safer environment for our guests and associates is a top priority. Achieving this is a shared responsibility. Please join us in our efforts to enhance the safety of our public spaces by complying with local regulations, practicing social distancing (staying at least 6 feet or 2 meters from other guests and hotel associates), and wearing face coverings whenever you’re in public areas of the hotel. We do appreciate your support and understanding.

We are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests.

At Marriott, we are committed to providing you an environment that aligns with expert protocols for working to defeat COVID-19. Consisting of in-house hotel operations and experts on food & beverage hygiene and infection prevention, our Marriott Cleanliness Council was formed to redefine our cleanliness standards. We will actively monitor and evolve our solutions to ensure a clean environment for your next meeting or event with us. All new protocols have been generated with the advice of our experts from cleaning hygiene companies such as Ecolab (Hygiene Partner).


In keeping with Marriott's Commitment to Clean, we have made several enhancements to our cleaning practices throughout our property and in guest rooms. These include:

  • Enhanced Public Space Cleaning: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection, particularly in areas with high traffic including restrooms, elevators, and escalators as well as provided more hand sanitizing stations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Staff members will wear PPE (e.g., face coverings, gloves, etc.) based on the activities they are performing and based on direction by the local authorities. Guests are welcome to wear personal face coverings.
  • Electrostatic Spraying: We're utilizing enhanced technologies, including electrostatic sprayers with hospital-grade disinfectants, to support our already rigorous cleanliness protocols.
  • Room Amenities: In-room coffee makers are not currently available, but guests can request contactless coffee delivery. Disinfectant wipes are available in the room for every arriving guest as well as upon request.

Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to your arrival. We will provide housekeeping cleaning services after your third night with us and while you are away from the room. If you’d like to receive additional daily cleaning, simply let our team know and we will gladly take care of it.

We are committed to making the amenities and services at our property available to you while complying with local regulations, including guidance on reducing capacity in public spaces and reinforcing social distancing. The modifications we have made include:

  • Fitness Center: Closed until further notice
  • Spa: Closed until further notice
  • Pool: Closed until further notice
  • Kids Club / Playground: Closed until further notice
  • Car: Active, Face Masks and Sanitization required
  • Lobby Lounge: Open, face masks required for entry.
  • Restaurants: Open, face masks required for entry.
  • Kathmandu Baking Company: 7:00 am to 9 pm
  • Thamel Kitchen: 7:00 am to 9 pm
  • Edamame: Closed until further notice
  • Raksi Bar: Closed until further notice
  • Food premises - Daily deep cleaning of operational kitchens using detergent scrubbing, steam pressure jets, and sanitizing.
  • Food contact surfaces like work tables, platforms are sanitized using chlorine solution after every process. Allowed to air dry.
  • Critical food contact materials - Chopping board, graters, storage containers etc are immersed in chlorine solution at every shift for at least 10 - 15mins and then air-dried.
  • All food handlers are extensively trained and audited daily for safe food practices. All kitchen processes are strictly undertaken with proper food safety gear (face mask, vinyl gloves, hand sanitizer, etc.).
  • All food packages are unboxed and sanitized from outside using chlorine and then maintained in the food storage inventory.
  • All perishables are cleaned using the ozonizer and vegetable washer at the receiving bay itself before they reach the kitchens for processing or storage.
