At Hôtel du Couvent, the cuisine reflects centuries of culinary heritage and celebrates local, seasonal ingredients. This tradition continues at the Restaurant du Couvent, the garden Guinguette, and the Bistrot des Serruriers, where simple yet perfectly executed dishes highlight fruits, vegetables, and eggs from the hôtel farm, herbs from the garden, homemade bread, and convent-made jams, in a spirit of authenticity and closeness.
Dining Where the Sisters Dined
At the Hôtel du Couvent, cooking is a unique, secular ritual passed down through history. This tradition is perpetuated with the cloister restaurant. In our Nice hotel restaurant, local products are perfectly cooked, with understated service.
Enjoy lunch, stay for a drink or all afternoon amidst the vegetable garden, between the flower and herb-lined terraces, a stone’s throw from the pools and open-air cinema.
A hotel bar par excellence, nestled beneath the arches of the historic cloister. Enjoy an intimate drink inside, surrounded by soft candlelight and ancient stone, or step out onto the terrace where the garden’s calm sets the mood. A timeless gathering place where the spirit of the convent meets the elegance of Riviera living.
Local bar and bistro open all day from breakfast to dinner. It offers breakfast in Nice, France, a set menu for lunch, an à la carte menu for dinner, ice cream all day at bistro fare, whilst being part of the community.
For long Stays or evenings at home, guests can order a basket of fresh produce from the hotel’s farm to cook for themselves, host friends for an in-suite meal, request the chef to prepare a private dinner, or even take part in the cooking themselves.
One Saturday morning each month, the Cour des Orangers hosts a market of passionate local producers who come to share their love of the land and quality products.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, the hotel restaurant is where it’s all happening. We’re in Nice, in a former convent, now a hotel.
Hôtel du Couvent offers a sincere and vibrant cuisine, shaped by the history of the place and the terroir of Nice. Inspired by tradition, it highlights local, seasonal ingredients and precise craftsmanship. Humble in form yet generous in flavor, it blends convent heritage, culinary memory, and modernity. It is a cuisine of emotion, authentic, joyful, and deeply rooted in its territory.
In Touët-sur-Var, in the hills of Nice’s hinterland, Ferme Notre-Dame supplies the hotel’s kitchens exclusively with its 3,000 m² of crops and 250 hens. Each day, Avit, the farmer, delivers fresh, seasonal eggs, fruits, and vegetables. Every product is carefully selected, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to remaining rooted in its surroundings and at the heart of the local community.
Inspired by convent tradition, the hotel’s bread is crafted on-site: the flour is milled, the dough kneaded, and the bread baked in the bakery oven located in the very room where the sisters once prepared their daily loaves. Each morning, warm, golden bread is served at breakfast and in the hotel’s three restaurants. Made with natural sourdough and heritage grains, it is more nourishing and develops a subtle, authentic flavor. This bread, shared with the community, is sold each day straight from the oven to local regulars and passersby.
