We embrace our responsibility for environmental stewardship and are committed to integrating leading environmental practices and sustainability principles into our core business strategy.

Go Green for Your Meeting

Small changes to your event make a big impact. We offer linen-less tables decorated with live potted plants and use water pitchers as alternatives for bottled water. All of our paper products are made of a minimum 30% post-consumer recycled content, and receptacles are strategically placed in the room. For audio-visual needs, we encourage you to partner with PSAV, utilizing ENERGY STAR® rated equipment.

Eating Clean, Re-defined

We support Marriott International’s #skipthestrawcampaign as part of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact. By integrating sustainability and traceability, and improving our seafood procurement, we are committed to sourcing higher quality sustainable products. We proudly offer shade-grown, organic coffee and fair trade coffee, tea, cocoa, and sugar; and our restaurants and banquets are Styrofoam-free.

Partnerships in Going Green

In addition to our Serve 360 efforts, our food waste is minimized with our composting partner, Miramar Greenery, where it returns to Mother Earth. We also partner with New Leaf Biofuel to take our used cooking oil and turn it into high-quality biodiesel.

Follow the Green Road

Guests are encouraged to experience the city on foot, by bike or utilizing public transportation including San Diego’s free FRED transportation circuit. Drive electric? Rest assured, electric vehicle charging stations are available with our valet.

Every Initiative Matters

There is even more happening behind the scenes to reduce our energy and water usage, including a STEM battery storage system, high-efficiency boilers, and low water usage foliage. We care about the dangers of releasing chemicals into the environment and have made a conscious decision to use Green Ecolab cleaning products throughout hotel.

PEB 5-Star Promise Statement

Pebblebrook Hotel Trust (“Pebblebrook”) strongly supports AHLA’s 5-Star Promise. Our pledge to AHLA complements the practices and policies in-place by our company and our hotel operating partners which are designed to ensure that the hotel employees at our more than 50 owned hotels across the United States abide by the law, respect individual’s rights, and do not tolerate sexual harassment of any type at our properties. We have dedicated a significant amount of resources to assist our hotel operators with sexual harassment awareness training and avoidance programs, in addition to training and resources to prevent human trafficking. We will continue to engage with our hotel operators to provide the resources to further assist them in ensuring the safety of our hotel employees and our guests. Pebblebrook is committed to funding the purchase of hotel employee safety devices for use at all of our owned hotels, as well as to provide funding for additional training and education programs on sexual harassment and human trafficking at our corporate level and our hotel properties. Through our pledge to the 5-Star Promise, Pebblebrook intends to contribute to positive, industry-wide improvements to continue to make hotels a safe place for all our employees and guests.
