King Executive Guest Room

A Sustainability Night’s Stay

In planning our newly refreshed guestrooms and suites, we kept sustainability in mind and added an energy management system, high-efficiency air filters, low flush pressure toilets, low flow aerators and residential bath amenities; and 100% of the guest room lighting is LED.

Go Green for Your Meeting

Small changes to your event make a big impact. We offer linen-less tables decorated with live potted plants and use water pitches as alternatives for bottled water. All of our paper products are made of a minimum 30% postconsumer recycled content, and receptacles are strategically placed in the room. For audiovisual needs, we encourage event planners to partner with Encore, utilizing ENERGY STAR rated equipment.

Pinzimini - Private Dining Room

Eating Clean, Re-defined

We support Marriott International’s #skipthestraw campaign as part of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact. By integrating sustainability and traceability, and improving our seafood procurement, we are committed to sourcing higher quality sustainable products. We proudly offer shade-grown, organic coffee and fair-trade coffee, tea, cocoa and sugar; our restaurants and banquets are Styrofoam-free.

San Diego Bay Embarcadero

Partnerships in Going Green

In addition to our Serve 360 efforts, our food waste is minimized with our composting partner, Miramar Greenery, where it returns to Mother Earth. We also partner with New Leaf Biofuel to take our used cooking oil and turn it into high-quality biodiesel.

Bike to Borrow

Follow the Green Road

Guests are encouraged to experience the city on foot, by bike or utilizing public transportation including San Diego’s free FRED transportation circuit. Drive electric? Rest assured, electric vehicle charging stations are available with our valet.

Every Initiative Matters

There is even more happening behind the scenes that makes a lasting impact to reduce our energy and water usage, including usage of a STEM battery storage system, high efficiency boilers, and low water usage foliage. We care about the dangers of releasing chemicals into the environment and have made a conscious decision to use Green Ecolab cleaning products throughout hotel.

At Marriott International and The Westin Gaslamp Quarter, diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our core values.  Our commitment to put people first drives our company culture.  We proudly support programs and initiatives to create an inclusive environment for our guests, associates and partners.
