Environmental Efforts
The Westin Kuala Lumpur is the first Marriott International property in Malaysia to be replacing plastic bottles with glass, shifting to an excellent water filtration concept to purify our very own drinking water for guests and to keep enormous numbers of single -use plastic bottles out of landfills. Prior to this initiative, the hotel went through over 400,000 plastic bottles in a year, not including the tiny bath amenity bottles. The Hotel is continuously moving towards more sustainable solutions. Changes include refillable wall mounted bath amenity bottles, the installation of a food compost machine to turn food wastage into fertilizer for the Hotel gardener, and is in collaboration with The Lost Food Project to provide surplus breads and pastries to the B40 Community in Kuala Lumpur.
